Family trip to Japan

Upon arrival at Tokyo Haneda International Airport (HND) or Narita International Airport (NRT), our representative will welcome you to Japan and assist you to transfer by the airport bus to your hotel in central Tokyo.

This morning our guide will meet you and together you will spend the day exploring Tokyo like a local would. You will ride local trains and subways to efficiently get around the city visiting the neighbourhoods of Shibuya and Asakusa.

Learn how to purify yourself at the entrance of Meiji-jingu shrine. Stroll down colorful Takeshita street in Harajuku with its youthful fashionable atmosphere and Kawaii culture. You may even run into some cosplayers all decked out as their favourite anime character. Next is the elegant tree lined Omotesando with its high style buildings and one of a kind architecture housing designer luxury boutiques.

The Asakusa traditional district in the northwest section of the city boasts the magnificent Senso-ji temple and its five story pagoda. Here, incense burning worshippers are oblivious to the selfie taking tourists. Let our guide help translate the good fortunes printed on your Omikuji and save as a souvenir of Tokyo. Some shopping time for souvenirs or Japanese rice crackers is in order along Nakamise shopping street which leads to the outer gate of the temple.

The Ghibli Museum is a whimsical tribute to Studio Ghibli’s enchanting films like My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away. Designed by Hayao Miyazaki, the museum features interactive exhibits, exclusive short films, a rooftop garden with a life-sized robot statue, and a play area for children, creating an immersive experience for fans of all ages.

TeamLab Planets in Tokyo offers an immersive digital art experience where visitors wade through water, interact with floating koi fish, and explore mirrored gardens filled with real flowers. This museum invites guests to remove their shoes and become part of the artwork, creating a multisensory journey that blurs the lines between art, nature, and technology.

Transfer to Tokyo station and take the bullet train to Kyoto (around 2h30),

Upon meeting our guide at Kyoto station, you will head to the south of Kyoto to Fushimi Inari Taisha. This shrine dedicated to the Shinto God of rice is famous for its thousands of vermillion colored torii gates leading through the wooded forest to Mount Inari.

Next, you will visit Kiyomizudera (pure water) temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1994. Make your way up to the wooden stage of the main hall with beautiful views of city of Kyoto and the surrounding mountains.

The tour ends in Gion, the most famous Geisha neighborhood of Kyoto. Here you will see the many well preserved traditional wooden houses (machiya) of old Japan, many of which are tea houses where Geishas entertain their well to do clientele. After the tour our guide will take you back to your hotel or you can remain in the area and further explore the area around Gion. Our guide will give you instructions how to get back to the hotel on your own.

You will join a tea ceremony. The  way of tea includes many elements of Japanese culture and has influenced the aesthetic sense of Japan. At a traditional Kyoto townhouse, we’d like to provide you with a tranquil moment to get acquainted with the world of tea ceremony and enjoy a cup of tea. It would be an unforgettable memory in Kyoto. Learn the heart of Japanese hospitality through the tea ceremony.

Later, tickets are included for the Samurai Ninja Museum, which offers an immersive journey into Japan’s warrior history, featuring authentic Edo-period samurai armor, swords, and ninja artifacts. Visitors can engage in hands-on experiences such as wearing samurai armor, practicing sword techniques, and learning the art of shuriken throwing, making it a captivating destination for families and history enthusiasts.

Take the train from Kyoto to Osaka (around 30min).

With your guide, visit Osaka Castle and stop by the burial site of the time capsule from Expo 70. Take in fabulous views from the 39th floor floating garden observatory of the futuristic Umeda sky building. Not to be missed is the famed canal area of Dotonburi with its colourful neon lit buildings. Walk the narrow alleys of Hozenji Yokocho where the locals come to eat and drink. Pick up some local souvenirs in the the Shinshaibashi-Suji shopping street.

Universal Studios Japan is a premier theme park offering a diverse array of attractions, from the magical Wizarding World of Harry Potter to the thrilling Flying Dinosaur roller coaster. A standout feature is Super Nintendo World, an immersive land where visitors can experience iconic Nintendo games firsthand, including the interactive Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge and the newly expanded Donkey Kong Country area.

Tickets are included to Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, one of the largest aquariums in the world, showcasing over 30,000 marine creatures from 620 species across 15 tanks that replicate the diverse ecosystems of the Pacific Rim. The highlight is the massive Pacific Ocean tank, home to whale sharks, manta rays, and hammerhead sharks, offering visitors an immersive journey through the depths of the ocean.
